我的梦想my dream

小时候，我的梦想是成为一名老师。
Xiǎoshíhou, wǒ de mèngxiǎng shì chéngwéi yì míng lǎoshī.
When I was a child, my dream was to be a teacher.

长大后，我真的实现了自己的梦想，
zhǎng dà hòu, wǒ zhēn de shíxiàn le zìjǐ de mèngxiǎng,
When I grew up, I really made my childhood dream come true,

成为了一名老师。
chéngwéi le yì míng lǎoshī.
because I became a teacher.

不过，我的学生不是一群可爱的中国孩子，
Búguò, wǒ de xuéshēng búshì yì qún kě'ài de Zhōngguó háizi,
However, my students are not a group of cute little Chinese kids,

而是一群一样可爱的外国大孩子。
ér shì yì qún yíyàng kě'ài de wàiguó dà háizi.
but rather a group of more mature and cute foreigner‘big kids’.

看着他们认真地学发音，
Kàn zhe tāmen rènzhēn de xué fāyīn,
As I watch them earnestly learn how to pronounce words,

认真地写汉字，
rènzhēn de xiě hànzì,
write characters earnestly,

认真地用中文和中国人交流,
rènzhēn de yòng Zhōngwén hé Zhōngguó rén jiāoliú,
and use Chinese to communicate with Chinese people earnestly,

我很感动，
wǒ hěn gǎndòng,
I feel touched,

也很骄傲。
yě hěn jiāo'ào.
and so proud.

感动，是因为他们的决心和坚持；
Gǎndòng, shì yīnwèi tāmen de juéxīn hé jiānchí;
I am touched because of their determination and persistence；

骄傲，是因为他们让我深深地感受到
Jiāo'ào, shì yīnwèi tāmen ràng wǒ shēn shēn de gǎnshòu dào
I am so proud because they inspire deep feelings in me .

自己国家的语言和文化是多么有魅力！
zìjǐ guójiā de yǔyán hé wénhuà shì duōme yǒu mèilì!
how charming my homecountry’s language and culture are! .

当然，也是他们
Dāngrán, yěshì tāmen
Of course, it is also my students .

不只让我变得更耐心了，
bùzhǐ ràng wǒ biàn de gèng nàixīn le, t
hat not only help me become more patient,

也让我了解了不同国家的文化，
yě ràng wǒ liǎojiě le bùtóng guójiā de wénhuà,
but also let me know about the cultures of different countries,

教会了我如何去理解和尊重别人，
jiāohuì le wǒ rúhé qù lǐjiě hé zūnzhòng biérén,
teach me how to understand and respect other people,

以及有一颗包容的心。
yǐjí yǒu yì kē bāoróng de xīn.
and have a heart that's welcoming to all sorts of different people and cultures.

有时候，我们都会面临这样的选择：
Yǒushíhou, wǒmen dōu huì miànlín zhèyàng de xuǎnzé:
Sometimes, we’ll all have to face this choice：

为梦想而活，还是为生存而活？
Wèi mèngxiǎng ér huó, háishi wèi shēngcún ér huó?
Live for our dreams or live for survival？

所以能做自己喜欢的工作，
Suǒyǐ néng zuò zìjǐ xǐhuan de gōngzuò,
So doing the work one enjoys,

是多么幸运和幸福的一件事啊！
shì duōme xìngyùn hé xìngfú de yí jiàn shì a!
is such a lucky and happy affair!
