(1) Mǎdīng kāizhe kāizhe shuìzháo le.
马丁 开着 开着 睡着 了。
(2) Anní kànzhe kànzhe shuìzháo le.
安妮 看着 看着 睡着 了。
(3) Dàwèi xǐzhe xǐzhe méishuǐ le.

小兰:你怎么撞伤的?
How did you get injured?
麦克:昨天早上我跑着去上课,跑着跑着,突然一个人骑车过来,把我撞伤了。
Yesterday morning while I was running to my class, a man riding a bike suddenly hit me.
小兰:这个人一定是骑得太快了!
That man must have been riding too fast!
麦克:是啊,不过他陪我去了医院,现在我们俩已经成了朋友。
He was, but he accompanied me to the hospital, now the two of us have become friends.
小兰:中国有句话叫“不打不相识”,意思是两个人因为一件不开心的事情认识,却反而成 了朋友,说的就是你们俩呀!
There’s an old saying in China:”Out of blows friendship grows”. It means that two people can meet each other as the result of an unhappy situation and in spite of it become friends. The saying is about you two!
麦克:这句话很有意思,我要记下来。(拿出一个小本子,把这句话写了下来)
This saying is quite interesting, I will make a note.
小兰:你这个本子里记了什么?能给我看看吗?
What have you written in that notebook? Can I have a look?
麦克递给小兰。
小兰:你记了这么多!这个本子都快写完了!
You’ve written a lot! This notebook is almost completely full of notes!
麦克:每次我听到有意思的汉语,都会记到这个本子上,记着记着,就记了整整一本!
Every time I hear something interesting in Chinese I take notes in this notebook. After writing many things I have almost finished the whole notebook!
