Mike: Hi, is this Lan Lan?

兰兰：我是。你是麦克吧？

Lan Lan: Yes I am. You’re Mike?

Mike：对，是我。兰兰，那本《藏地密码》你看完了吗？能借我看看吗？

Mike: Yep, it’s me. Lan Lan, have you finished reading The Tibet Code? Can you lend it to me?

兰兰：《藏地密码》啊，我刚看完。你什么时候来拿？

Lan Lan: Oh，The Tibet Code，I’ve just finished reading it. When do you want to come get it?

Mike：我现在去可以吗？

Mike: Can I come over now?

兰兰：可以啊，一会儿见。

Lan Lan：Sure，see you in a bit.

兰兰：请进。

Lan Lan: Come in.

Mike：阿姨、兰兰，你们在干什么呢？

Mike: What are you doing, auntie, Lan Lan?

兰兰：我们在包粽子啊。

Lan Lan: We’re making “zongzi” rice dumplings.

Mike：粽子？我从来没听你说过啊！兰兰，到底什么是粽子？

Mike: Rice dumplings? I’ve never heard you mention it! Lan Lan，what exactly are rice dumplings?

兰兰：粽子啊，是一种非常有特色的中国传统美食。

Lan Lan: Rice dumplings are a type of very special traditional Chinese food.

兰兰妈：是啊。在中国，只要过端午节，人们都要吃粽子。

Lan Lan's Mom: Yes. In China, every year during the Dragon Boat Festival，people eat rice dumplings.

Mike：端午节？我知道。我听老师讲过，中国人过端午节来纪念，纪念……屈…….？

Mike: Dragon Boat Festival? I know. I’ve heard the teacher talk about it. The Chinese use the Dragon Boat Festival to commemorate…Qu…?

兰兰：是屈原。在端午节那天，我们会吃粽子。有些地方还有划龙舟的比赛呢。

Lan Lan：It’s Qu Yuan. On the day of the Dragon Boat Festival，we eat rice dumplings. In some places they even hold Dragon Boat races.

Mike：真有意思。兰兰，粽子是用什么做的？

Mike: That's fascinating. What are rice dumplings made of，Lan Lan?

兰兰：用糯米。你看我们用苇叶把糯米包起来，里面再放些小枣啊、红豆啊，就像这样，然后把它们放进开水里煮。那味道，可香啦l！

Lan Lan：With glutinous rice. Look, we use苇叶to wrap up the glutinous rice，put in some dates, red beans, like this, then boil them in water. They taste just delicious!

兰兰妈：麦克，我们刚刚做好了一些。来，你尝尝。

Lan Lan's Mom: Mike，we’ve just made some. Come on. Try one.

兰兰妈：好吃么？

Lan Lan's Mom: Is it good?

Mike：好吃。

MIKE: Very, very good.

兰兰妈：慢慢吃。这儿还有十几个，你给小明他们带回去尝尝吧。

Lan Lan's Mom: Slow down. We’ve got a dozen more here. Take some home for Xiao Ming and the others.

Mike：那太好啦。

Mike: That's wonderful.

Mike: Thanks auntie. Lan Lan，I’m off. Bye auntie.

Lan Lan: Come back Mike, your book!
