Used to indicate that an action or result happens within a situation, event, or process. It is very common in news writing to describe the circumstances in which something happened.

Used to introduce information from a source, meaning 'according to'. In formal and news-style Chinese, 据报道, 据统计, 据介绍 are very common fixed expressions.

This pattern shows the time when something else happens. It often links a background action with a main event. The structure is very common: 在 + verb/action + 时.
